Maple Bark

Close up of the bark of the big maple tree in the front yard of my parents' farm, Sonshine Acres, in Peoria, New York. This tree now stands alone in the front yard and is quite old. When I was young the tree had grown around the front of the old farmhouse that we used to live in and my parents' bedroom window faced west into the top of the tree. The house has been gone for decades but the tree remains and has begun to fill in the gap where the house used to be.
