Wilber and Erika Arrive at San Juan Venado Estuary in Las Peñitas Nicaragua
Wilbur has been delivering meals to the crews working on the river three times a day for over a week to help keep everyone working. The SJV Estuary in Las Penitas, Leon, Nicaragua silted up as it does every few decades. The village rallied together and raised funds and food and volunteers and the government brought in two bulldozers and a front loader and has spent a week digging a new channel to bring life back to the river and to open the region to fishing again. Today the village turned out at low tide to watch the crew open the new channel to the Pacific Ocean. Major community event.
