Democratic National Convention Satellite Event in Newark

This was a difficult shot to get simply because it was so dark and there was so much direct light to fight against. I did not have time to grab the SLR with the faster lens so this was taken with my little Kodak digicam. This was the last good shot that I managed before the streetlight in the middle of the picture turned off and left the crowd in relative darkness. In the lower portion of the shot you can see the stage erected in the middle of Commerce Street, just a few feet east of Commerce Court, and the crowd of people standing to the east of the stage. The rally went from 6pm until 11pm. The street was closed off before noon which really impacted struggling local businesses.
